WATCH: How Liz Took Control of Her Sjogren's Symptoms

When Liz first came to us, she was dealing with a wide range of debilitating symptoms: joint pain, dry eyes, muscle soreness, brain fog, and persistent fatigue. Gut issues weren’t a focus at first, but it soon became clear they’d been an underlying problem for years, and needed to be addressed as part of the healing process.
She had already followed the conventional route: speaking with her GP and specialists, only to be told there was no clear cause or solution. The message was simple: come back when it gets worse. Stronger medications might be considered later on, but for now, there was nothing they could do.
For Liz, that wasn’t good enough.
“I felt like I was sitting in the wrong room,” she said. “I wanted to understand why this was happening, not just wait for it to get worse.”
That’s when she found us, and joined the Beyond Sjögren's 'RESTORE' 4-month program.
What followed was a profound shift, not just in her symptoms, but in her overall quality of life.
How Liz's Sjogren's Symptoms Improved Over Time
Within weeks, Liz began to feel real changes. Her fatigue started to lift. Her joint pain and muscle soreness faded. Her dry eyes became far less disruptive. Even the brain fog that had been clouding her thinking for so long began to clear.
And perhaps most importantly, she found herself with stable, sustainable energy throughout the day, improved sleep, and the resilience to bounce back from stressors much more quickly.
She still reported the occasional flare or dry-eye episode, but now, these moments were far fewer, and much more manageable - not all-consuming and debilitating as they were previously.
“To be free of symptoms and pain is something that impacts everything,” Liz said. “It’s hard to describe how much it changes your life.”
Liz came into the program already well-versed in health. She exercised regularly and followed a healthy diet. But she was surprised to discover that some of the most powerful changes came from strategies she hadn’t expected and wouldn’t have found on her own. This was part of the transformation too: learning to trust the process, even when it looked different from what she’d read or heard before.
“Sometimes, you can feel like you don’t have a health condition at all,” she said. “That confidence shifts how you live your life.”
Following the program, Liz no longer felt like she was just surviving her symptoms: she felt she was living again! And she wanted others to know that it’s not too late to feel better.
