Are you dealing with Sjögren's symptoms such as dry eyes, dry mouth, fatigue, digestive issues and/or pain, and are seeking an holistic treatment approach that can really help improve your symptoms and quality of life?
Then read on, because in this article we'll explain who our Sjögren's treatment programmes are ideal for, how they work, and what you can do next if what you read resonates with you.
Firstly, who are our 3-month programmes for?
Our personalised 1-to-1 treatment programmes are individually tailored for people who are struggling with Sjogren's, or Sjögren's-like symptoms, whether they are diagnosed or not-yet-diagnosed. So if you are experiencing any combination of dry eyes, dry mouth, fatigue, vaginal discomfort, constipation, abdominal pain, acid reflux, diarrhoea, joint or nerve pain, then our programmes would be a good fit for you.
The programmes are also suitable for people who struggle with significant fatigue and/or have limited mobility, as all consultations are carried out remotely via Zoom, removing the need for in-person clinic visits.
All testing will be carried out locally to you, either through home-based testing kits (ie. finger prick or urine samples), or through local private blood draw services.
And what do the programmes involve?
In addition to significantly improving your symptoms in the short-term, the ultimate goal of our programmes is to empower you with the knowledge and tools you need to sustain your improvements into the the future.
And while we offer a range of programme options, of all of them will include these three steps:
Step 1: Learning and Preparing
We'll begin by delving into your health history, diet and lifestyle habits. We'll also use lab tests to help identify triggers of inflammation and potential underlying root-causes. These root causes can vary widely from person to person, ranging from nutrient deficiencies to food sensitivities, stealth infections, hormonal imbalances, environmental toxins, and microbiome issues, for example.
At this stage, we’ll craft an initial personalised diet, supplement and lifestyle plan to kickstart your path to symptom improvement.
Step 2: Tweaking and Optimizing
In Step 2, we'll review how you've responded to your initial diet, supplement and lifestyle plan, as well as any testing results that have come back, and we'll tweak your plan in order to achieve even more improvements. We will repeat this step 2 or 3 times, so that by the end, you'll end up with a tried and tested, and highly optimized plan that you know has really set you firmly in the direction towards contiued improvements.
Weekly or fortnightly check-in sessions will provide you with the accountability, support and guidance you need to help ensure that you remain on track with implemenation of your plan, as well addressing any questions and issues as they come up - all of which will ultimately help you gain control over your symptoms.
Step 3: Keeping Up the Good Work
The final step revolves around sustaining your progress and empowering you to continue making positive changes beyond the programme duration. By the end of the 3 months, you'll have the confidence and motivation to carry forward the changes you've embraced. Should you wish to extend your support, we'll be able to discuss options that align with your needs at that point in time.
Investing in Your Health and Well-Being
We understand the importance of accessible support on your journey to relief. Our 3-month programmes therefore offer varying investment levels, ranging from £399 to £1699 (or the equivalent in USD), depending on your unique requirements and support needs. The factors that determine investment levels are the consultation frequency, check-in frequency, number of follow-ups, protocol reviews and additional support/coaching.
This investment in your health is a genuine commitment to your improved quality of life long into the future, guided by a team of experienced practitioners and coaches that you can rely on.
What Benefits Have Other Participants Experienced?
We are careful to be honest with all our clients: Sjögren’s is an unpredictable disease and everyone reacts differently to treatments, whether they are pharmaceutical or natural.
Having said this, the vast majority of the people we work with experience very significant improvements through doing the programme.
As a recent case in point, A. (67 year old, female), had been largely bed bound before starting working with us. She suffered with widespread neuropathy, experiencing debilitating waves of pain and fatigue that would incapacitate her for days, and debilitating fatigue. She also suffered from chronic dry eyes and mouth, which she experienced for more than 17 years. She was dependent on her partner and family for chores and cooking. In her own words, “in 7 days, I will only have 1 ‘okay’ day where I feel less pain than the other days”.
Despite intense suffering, A. and her partner showed dedication to the process from the get go - they were determined to make this work. With our support and guidance, they took the diet, supplement and liufestyle recommendations on board fully, in a manageable and sustainable way.
Every week that passed, although she would report minor improvements to various symptoms she had, she was however still bed/couch bound and in severe pain daily. Then, at the 1.5 month mark, she suddenly had the energy to cook, to do some gardening, and even to go on walks and go shopping in the supermarket! She was no longer fully dependent on her partner, which gave him the freedom to leave the house more often.
These were life-changing achievements in of themselves, for both of them. However, things really started to pick up when she first reported that she had started salivating again ("dribbling" even, in her words), after 17 years, and then, most significantly, that her pain intensity and frequency had dramatically subsided - she was now having multiple days in a row without pain, and when it did come, it was far less severe than previously and entirely managable, by her own account!
This is just one of many similar cases - and is representative of what can happen when you focus on healing the body, rather than just trying to medicate symptoms away.
